     After four decades of writing for other people, as a journalist, public relations and media practitioner, press person for federal and state agencies, I decided that when I retired, I would write only for myself; if anyone liked what I wrote, that would be fine.

     Since 2004, when I left a public agency job, I started to do just that: write for myself but because I found an interest and a goal, my writings have focused on young people in middle and high school, especially Chicano and Latino kids. I've written and published two novelas of what has become a series, the first two are award-inning books and I have two more to publish by end of 2015. So I'd say it's never too late to create.
